Healthy Kids of Oregon
Healthy Kids is a health coverage program for all uninsured Oregon kids and teens. Mid Valley Family Dental in Woodburn is a Healthy Kids provider. All children enrolled in the plan have a health coverage card that allows them to access our dental services under the plan for which they are enrolled.
Healthy Kids covers:
- Doctor visits and preventative care
- Medical, dental and vision care
- Prescriptions and durable medical equipment
- Mental health and chemical dependency services
Eligibility for Healthy Kids of Oregon is based on age, residency and income. The child or teen must be under the age of 19, live in Oregon and be a legal resident. Family income will determine if a child qualifies for the no-cost, low-cost or full-cost option. Coverage lasts for one full year. Children will not be turned away due to pre-existing conditions or be put on a waiting list. No family earns too much for Healthy Kids. If your family does not qualify for the no-cost or low-cost programs, you can purchase Healthy Kids coverage at full-cost.
The Office of Healthy Kids is a part of the Oregon Health Authority, and enrollment work is done online or through the Department of Human Services offices across the state. Funding for the Healthy Kids expansion comes from a one percent premium on insurance companies and from matching federal funding for children’s health insurance. Visit the Oregon Healthy Kids website to apply or get more information so that your child or teen gets the dental care he or she needs now. Children without health coverage are far more likely to go without regular, preventative care and end up needing expensive treatment later.
